APLA Appoints Dr Dabney Yerima as Special Envoy
The Ambazonia People’s Liberation Authority (APLA) has announced Dr Dabney Yerima as its Special Envoy, assigning him a senior leadership role focused on political representation, special missions and institutional relationships. In an official announcement dated 5 November 2026, APLA said Yerima would also serve on its Leadership Board and support the President and Secretary General in advancing the organisation’s mission. The statement was signed by Ntube Francis Eseme, APLA’s Secretary General and head of its Secretariat. A mandate for representation and engagement According to the announcement, Yerima’s responsibilities include presenting approved APLA positions during political and institutional engagements at national and international levels. His remit also covers specific assignments and the development of relationships with governments, international institutions, national stakeholders, professional networks and strategic partners. The statement describes a role combining high-level engagement with sustained institutional work. It does not announce particular missions, meetings or agreements resulting from the appointment. Reporting to APLA’s leadership Yerima will report to both the President and Secretary General, the announcement says. He will work closely with the Secretariat to prepare and coordinate engagements, document them and follow up on assigned responsibilities. APLA called on its institutions, stakeholders and partners to cooperate with him in carrying out the mandate. Self-determination through a negotiated process The organisation linked the office to its stated pursuit of self-determination, saying it would serve that objective through “a just negotiated process sanctioned by our people”. APLA also used the announcement to reaffirm its commitment to representation, accountable leadership and service to the people of Ambazonia. The document sets out the office’s responsibilities and reporting arrangements but does not specify a term of office or a timetable for Yerima’s first engagements.
