Biya is back in Cameroon and expectations are high: Will he make the grade?
The Cameroonian president’s much-postponed return to Yaoundé occurred on 20 August, after 74 days spent in Switzerland, and his in-tray is overflowing.

President Paul Biya‘s plane from Geneva landed in Yaoundé on Thursday, 20 August, at around 5pm. As has been the case on each of his returns to Cameroon in recent years, the head of state discreetly disembarked from the chartered Airbus, using a lifting device specially brought in to spare him from descending the aircraft’s steep boarding stairs.
