Le Cameroun a décidé de réévaluer son patrimoine forestier national, une opération qui n'a pas été réalisée depuis environ vingt ans. Le ministère des Forêts et de la Faune a lancé cette initiative pour obtenir des données précises sur les ressources en bois, la faune et la biodiversité, afin de mieux lutter contre l'exploitation illégale des forêts. Un atelier de validation méthodologique a eu lieu à Ebolowa pour soutenir ce projet.
