Carlos Baleba joins Manchester United for €76 million from Brighton

Carlos Baleba's transfer to Manchester United has been finalized for approximately €76 million, making him the second most expensive player sold by Brighton. This transfer follows his successful stint at Brighton, where he was brought in to replace Moisés Caicedo. Baleba's move marks a significant step in his career as he joins one of the most prestigious clubs in the Premier League.

The deal includes additional performance-related bonuses, which could increase the total fee. Baleba's contract with Manchester United extends until 2031, indicating the club's long-term commitment to the player. His weekly salary is reported to be around £90,000, reflecting his new status at the club.

Baleba's arrival is seen as a crucial addition to Manchester United's midfield, especially after the departures of key players like Bruno Guimarães and Sandro Tonali. His performance at Brighton had already attracted interest from several top clubs, including Newcastle United, but ultimately, he chose to join United.

Despite his promising start, Baleba is currently sidelined due to injury and will miss several important matches, including games against Ipswich Town and Everton. This setback raises concerns about his immediate impact on the team as they seek to recover from a disappointing start to the season.

The football community has reacted positively to Baleba's transfer, with many seeing it as a significant step for both the player and Manchester United. Former players and analysts have expressed their excitement about his potential contributions to the team. Sébastien Bassong, a former international teammate, has advised Baleba to focus on crafting his own legacy at the club.

As Baleba integrates into the squad, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how he adapts to the pressures of playing for a top club. His previous performances in the Premier League have set high expectations, and there is hope that he will quickly become a key player for Manchester United once he returns from injury.
